Our Christmas Eve reasons to be cheerful….!

Well, the end of 2021 is not the one any of us had hoped for, with Covid-19 once again reinventing and causing chaos. So here at HK, with our Christmas meet-up on ice and in a bid to stay positive, we’ve taken a few moments to reflect on the last 12 months. At the end of this second crazy year, we know that we still have much to be thankful for.

So, in the words of Ian Dury, here’s our reasons to be cheerful….

  • We survived the Covid slowdown – and are now working full pelt!

  • We’ve worked with so many fantastic candidates and clients, enjoyed great conversations about exciting roles, changing career plans and challenging new opportunities

  • We’ve been busy with projects, helping to reshape client teams, conducting global and UK IC research, building communications capability and training people from the Bahamas to Hong Kong, London and beyond

  • We’ve supported charities including the Helen Arkell Dyslexia Charity, who worked with us to run a workshop highlighting how to support those with dyslexia. We’re particularly proud that the event introduced a new trustee to the charity!

  • We’ve placed numerous candidates into FTC and perm roles across a range of sectors

  • We’ve continued with our networking workshops online, featuring brilliant speakers and meeting over 100 attendees at 4 events to support communicators through this years’ business challenges

  • This is our 12th blog post of the year during which we’ve talked about everything from interview tips and the impact of IR35 to re-imagining the future workplace

  • And last but not least, we’ve continued as a team to look out for each other and others, helping out where we can, including donning our yellow bibs to volunteer at local vaccine centres.

As we look to welcome in 2022 and the many and varied challenges it will bring, let’s hope for a better year for everyone – but not forget everything we’ve achieved in 2021 in spite of it all!

Wishing you all a very merry Christmas and happy new year from Team HK.
